A Keyser man remained jailed Friday on $150,000 bond after he and another man were arrested on felony charges stemming from a traffic stop near Webster, according to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office. The Cumberland Times News reports Michael Ray Mallow, 21, who is reportedly a student at Alderson-Broaddus College, was charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Also arrested was 22-year-old Nathan Jun Cosgrove of Chloe, who was charged with the same offenses, according to the sheriff's office.

The arrests reportedly stemmed from a traffic stop Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m., as the deputies were working an overtime shift for speed control along U.S. Route 119.

Police stopped a 2002 Dodge Ram for alleged speeding and reportedly detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search led to the discovery of marijuana, pills and drug paraphernalia, deputies said.

Deputies also reportedly discovered a semi-automatic, AR-style rifle, a semi-automatic handgun and $8,207 in U.S. currency.

Following the arrests, Mallow and Cosgrove were jailed at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Cosgrove also remained jailed there Friday in lieu of $150,000 bond.

A published report indicated Mallow was placed on suspension by the college.
