Keyser woman arrested on attempted robbery charges

On Thursday, 35 year old Celesta Fawn Jamison, of Keyser, was arrested in Cumberland by members of the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit, after a warrant charging her in connection with the attempted robbery which occurred at the Fair Price Market in Westernport on January 8th was issued.  On Sunday, the 8th approximately 1:15 AM, a lone suspect entered the Fair Price Market in Westernport and approached the counter. The suspect provided the employee on duty with a note.  The note indicated that the suspect had a gun and that the suspect wanted money from the cash register.  The employee refused to give the suspect any money and told the suspect to leave the business.  The suspect left the business, and fled the business on foot, heading east.   The suspect did not display a weapon at any time during the incident.

 

            Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and with assistance from the Maryland State Police, a search was conducted, but the suspect was not located at that time. Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) also responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.  

 

            Jamison was identified after C3I Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the business and obtained other evidence linking her to the crime.

 

            Jamison was charged with Armed Robbery and Theft. She was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. She is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $50,000.00  bond pending her next court appearance.
