On Thursday May 17, 2018, at 5:22 pm, officer from the Cumberland Police Department responded to Bedford St. @ Queen City Drive for a large fight involving a knife.  Upon officers arriving on scene, those involved in the altercation separated and began walking in separate directions.  Officer quickly gained control of the situation, however; one individual later identified as Michael Cullum, age 28, of Keyser, WV, began running from the scene. Officers gave pursuit on foot ordering Cullum to stop multiple times.  After a brief foot chase Cullum was apprehended.  At this time officers investigating the incident learned that it was only a large verbal altercation and no assault occurred.  Despite the results of the investigation, Cullum was arrested for failing to obey and disorderly conduct.  Cullum was transported to Police Headquarters where he was issued Criminal Citations and then released pending trial in District Court.
