A LaVale man pleaded guilty to second-degree rape in Allegany County Circuit Court on Thursday. Ronald Lee Bierman Jr., 50, was sentenced Thursday to 10 years, with five years suspended, according to court documents. He was also sentenced to three years' probation. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office and C3I into allegations that Bierman, a registered sex offender, had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a female victim.
