In late December a spree of armed robberies hit Ridgeley, Short Gap Ford and Cumberland- and just last weekend three more took place in Cumberland, one in Frostburg and one in LaVale. While three arrests were made in connection with the December robberies, the investigations are still open. Lt Brian Lepley with the Cumberland Police Department tells WCBC News that local law enforcement believes that the spike in robberies can be linked to the opioid and heroin epidemic…
