Lawmakers Face Uphill Battle With Bills To Improve Economic Climate In WMD

When the 2017 session of the Maryland General Assembly opens next month- once again the local delegation will have a number of bills ready to be introduced designed to improve the economic climate in western Maryland. The challenge, according to Delegate Jason Buckel, is to start seeing some results in the area of growth. Buckel, addressing local business leaders, said that no matter how many incentive programs are implemented to entice businesses to locate in Allegany and Garrett counties- until some of that growth and population increase comes to fruition- the lawmakers are fighting an uphill battle…
