“Protecting the environment is essential to a sound economy, a high quality of life and a healthy future,” said Delaney. “Climate change is one of the defining issues of our time, with the potential to kill jobs, destroy property and create increased risk of natural disasters. This is especially true in Maryland, a coastal state where clean water and soil are essential to job-creating industries such as agriculture, aquaculture and tourism. On the House floor, I’m proud to stand with the League of Conservation Voters on environmental policy.”

According to the League of Conservation Voters, the annual Scorecard represents “the consensus of experts from about 20 respected environmental and conservation organizations who select the key votes on which members of Congress should be scored.”
