From oldies to alternative and everything in between, the hope is Bands on the Bricks will become Cumberland’s premiere outdoor summer concert series taking place on the downtown mall and Canal Place. Officials with the Downtown Development Commission, during a Wednesday afternoon press conference at City Hall announced the diverse musical lineup that will be entertaining in town throughout the summer months. DDC Chair Sandi Saville said that activities, including live music, will undergo a rebranding by changing the name from Summer in the City to Cumberland Comes Alive!, While Friday After Five proved a solid attraction for more than a decade, Saville says it is time for a change, with the hope being to appeal to a younger crowd…
