Prior to the opening of each casino in Maryland a special license was created to allow the casinos to sell alcohol for the entire time they are open. Last year Maryland voters decided to let casinos stay open 24/7, which meant that they could also sell alcohol around the clock. Three of the four casinos in Maryland- including Rocky Gap- are open and serve alcohol twenty four hours a day. Local bar owners are worried that these casinos will draw customers away from their establishments. John Wagner is a reporter for the Washington Post who has been covering the story- and says that ultimately the decision was left up to the voters.
