Longtime Cumberland City employee passes

Marvin "Buddy" Myers a long time Cumberland city employee who served in a number of capacities during his career passed away July 12th at the age of 90.  An  Air Force veteran Myers was  survived by his wife, Marlene"Toni" Myers; son, Randy Myers; brother, Ron Myers and grandson, Jered Myers. Marvin was born in Flintstone on May 28, 1929 and joined the Air Force at age 18, serving  22 years as a senior master sergeant  Once retiring from the Air Force he returned to Maryland and had a successful career with the city of Cumberland. During his tenure at city hall, Myers worked in parking, maintenance of the downtown mall and urban renewal.  Myers’ final resting place is Rocky Gap Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Maryland. Services will be held Aug. 2, 2019, at noon. Military Honors to be presented.
