Cumberland City Police Saturday responded to the first block of Race St for the report of an assault.
Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted a victim who advised that a male subject, identified as Michael Torez Roy, had assaulted them inside the home. They advised Roy was attempting to remove a dog from the home without permission when Roy attacked them, causing visible injury.
As a result, Roy was placed under arrest and taken to Police Headquarters for processing. He was then taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, held without bond.
