Authorities say a Garrett County man suffered a medical emergency before a single-vehicle accident that injured two people Wednesday evening. The Cumberland Times News reports James H. Grub, 65, of Oakland was flown to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment following the crash, which happened just after 6:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of George Washington Highway. A passenger in the vehicle, Sharon K. Wilson, 57, of Oakland, suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to Garrett Regional Medical Center by Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.

The Garrett County Sheriff's Office reports Grubb's vehicle traveled off the east lane of the highway and into a ditch. It then re-entered the highway, crossed the westbound lane and struck a tree.
