While acknowledging that he is glad to see government reopened and functioning again, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin called the 35 day partial shutdown “politically-motivated and extremely hurtful” . Manchin, a Democrat serving in a red, pro Trump state, said that it’s time to move beyond petty political bickering and to reach a compromise that both sides can live with. He said Democrats are looking at implementing a holistic approach to ending this stalemate…
