Martin O’Malley Will Not Run For President In 2020

Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley quashed speculation on Thursday of a possible bid for the White House in 2020, and encouraged outgoing Texas Representative Beto O’Rourke to take up a campaign for the Democratic nomination. In an op-ed published by the Des Moines Register, O’Malley said bluntly that he “will not be running for president in 2020,” but expressed hope that O’Rourke will- suggesting that he can be an effective messenger for the Democratic Party moving forward…

    His dozen or so supporters must now look to throw their support somewhere else. Personally I always felt he was running to be Hillary’s vice-president.

      > A reasonable premise but O’Malley does not bring much to the table as a VP candidate since he is from a state that would certainly vote for the Democrat presidential candidate even if it were Brian Grim.
