Maryland Designing Legislation Against Foreclosures

Maryland lawmakers have been among the most aggressive in implementing legislation designed to slow down the home foreclosure process, and to make certain that homeowners in jeopardy are given a fair opportunity to retain their properties. Just last month a training workshop with housing counselors sponsored by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development was conducted- and there have been numerous workshops for homeowners across the state in the past year.  The October meeting was an opportunity for housing counselors to share anecdotes on how homeowners are being impacted by the economy, specifically foreclosure, and suggestions on how to stabilize the housing market.  Congressman Dutch Rupersberger, who hosted a foreclosure workshop Sunday, said that such efforts are having an impact…
