Maryland hunters bag 30 bears on day one

Maryland's black bear hunting season continues through Thursday. Thirty bears were killed on day one. Maryland's black  bear biologist, Harry Spiker tsays  that this year they gave out more permits and changed from a quota system to a four day hunt. Spiker says the bear population continues to grow in Maryland in the four most western counties. But black bear in the summer months will be spotted in central and southern Maryland. More than three-thousand people applied for the 450 permits. Some came from Texas
