Maryland Playoff Game Suspended After Fight

March 8th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland 1A Boys Basketball Playoff Game between Edmondson-Westside and Crisfield was suspended on Saturday afternoon at Crisfield when a scuffle between players quickly spread to the crowd becoming involved.

Players were sent to the locker rooms for 30 minutes, but when the crowd failed to disperse, officials decided to suspend play for the day.

After initially scheduling the game to be completed at Edmondson Monday, the MPSSAA has awarded the victory to Edmondson, which will play Southern Garrett in the state semifinals.

There has been no announcement if any of the players involved in the scuffle will face discipline.  Typically, a player who is ejected or leaves the bench area during an incident, is not allowed to play in the next game.

This kind of conduct is seen by the high school kids in professional sports so they think that’s how they should act. And then the crowd participates so that just motivates them more.
    So pitiful!
