Nine states will share $500 million in grant money won in a high profile competition intended to jumpstart improvements in often-overlooked early childhood programs.
Maryland is one of the nine.
WBAL reports Maryland applied to get $50 million dollars, according to education department spokesman Bill Reinhard.
