Maryland Representatives Pushing for Wage Increase

Although an effort to raise Maryland's minimum wage to $10 an hour died during the last General Assembly session, there are plans for another push both inside and outside the legislature. U.S. Rep. John Delaney this week said he would draw money from his personal wealth to support a campaign to raise the state's minimum wage.  Although Delaney also supports an increase in the federal minimum wage, he said a state-by-state campaign might be the most effective way to accomplish the goal. Delaney is not alone in supporting a minimum wage hike.  State Senator Rob Garagiola, who lost to Delaney in the Sixth District democratic primary last year,  says now is the time to push for an increase…
