Maryland State Police Make Arrest at Super 8

On 4-7-2016 at approximately 2032 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack were dispatched to 1301 National Hwy LaVale, Maryland (Super 8 Motel) in reference to a domestic assault. 

Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with the female victim.  The investigation revealed she was assaulted by Lance Edward Twigg, 37, of Cumberland, Md.  The victim was transported to the Western Maryland Health System for treatment of minor injuries.  Troopers then made contact with Twigg at which time he became combative.  Troopers were able to place Twigg under arrest and place him in the patrol vehicle.  Once inside the patrol vehicle Twigg became combative again and was kicking the windshield of the vehicle, subsequently busting it.  Twigg was charged with assault, resisting arrest, malicious destruction of property and fail to obey a lawful order.  He was taken before the Allegany County District Court Commissioner where he was held on $35,000 bond.
