Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh, in coordination with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey and other Attorneys General, will hold a news conference tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 to announce a civil lawsuit against Volkswagen to hold them accountable for the pollution they’ve caused and for violating Maryland’s environmental laws as a result of defrauding regulators by using “defeat devices” for emissions control. Attorney General Frosh, along with other Attorneys General across the country, are seeking civil penalties, injunctive relief and other penalties.
