Maryland’s Jobless Rate Slims

Maryland's jobless rate has decreased slightly in April. The state's unemployment rate fell to 6.5 percent last month, according to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national rate of 7.5 percent and is a tenth lower than the March number for Maryland. Even with the overall percentage dropping, the state actually saw a net loss of jobs in April of 6,200.
