March 18th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Braddock Math Counts state finalists competed in the Elite 28 team championship at John’s Hopkins University on Saturday, March 14, 2015. The Pii Day state competition started at 9:26 on 3.14.15.  Pii Day is an event that occurs, on a Saturday, once every 400 years.  Many of the teams competing were magnet or private schools.  Maryland has 267 public and 61 private middle schools for a total of 328 middle schools.  Being in the Elite 28 puts the school in the top 8.5 % of all middle schools in the state.  This is an honor that Braddock’s team has had 25 of the last 31 years.  Pictured:  (front) Benjamin Bryan, Zach Beck, Max Summerfield; (back) Coach Hansel, Eesha Bokil, Parker Preaskorn, Sean Fiscus, Coach Short.
