The Braddock Math Counts state finalists competed in the Elite 28 team championship at John’s Hopkins University on Saturday, March 14, 2015. The Pii Day state competition started at 9:26 on 3.14.15. Pii Day is an event that occurs, on a Saturday, once every 400 years. Many of the teams competing were magnet or private schools. Maryland has 267 public and 61 private middle schools for a total of 328 middle schools. Being in the Elite 28 puts the school in the top 8.5 % of all middle schools in the state. This is an honor that Braddock’s team has had 25 of the last 31 years.
