The Cumberland Mayor and City Council on Wednesday participated in an economic development strategic planning meeting held by the City’s consultant, RKG & Associates- and now a steering committee will study that report and present recommendations by the end of the month. Kyle Talente, vice president and principal with RKG, provided a brief overview- as many of the concepts and proposals having been discussed in previous meetings. The biggest proposed change would be to remove economic development as a city department- and to create a 501c (3) organization combining the public and private sectors.
