Mayoral Candidates Discuss Range of Issues

May 31st, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Six of the seven candidates for mayor of Cumberland participated Wednesday evening in a forum at Allegany College of Maryland.  Lawrence Becker was unable to attend the event sponsored by WCBC Radio.  One of the questions posed to the candidates involved the West Side bridges and how to get them repaired.

Challenger Raymond Morriss, a longtime CSX employee, urged that the city take over the request for funding.

George Merling said that CSX has no interest in funding the repairs.
