MD Budget Chief Foresees Revenue Losses Through 2021

July 6th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland Board of Public Works last week delayed taking action on recommendations for $205 million in additional cuts to address the COVID-19 impact on the state’s fiscal picture. However, difficult decisions will need to be made in the very near future. That was the word from Governor Larry Hogan’s budget chief who provided a grim outlook of future revenue projections. David Brinkley said the state is facing a projected loss of roughly $2 billion in state revenues for the fiscal year that began Wednesday. That projection balloons to more than $4 billion in the next fiscal year…

And like most states, they’ll cut funding for education, healthcare and anything the people need. But they’ll keep up funding for prisons, tear gas, etc. so they’ll have a way to control the coming riots when people get sick of being abused by these s.o.b.’s.

Just think how much money could be saved on prisons, tear gas, etc if people would act like adults and not spoiled brats. There are civilized ways of handling things when you have been “abused” and rioting is not one of them. So as long as people act like rabble we will have to pay for ways to subdue them. But just think of how much money we could save if everyone acted like civilized adults. If destroying things accomplishes something then why don’t they destroy their own property? If you have been “abused” how does two wrongs make a right? If mob control is what they want and and law breaking is ok then how can police abuse be wrong? Hypocrisy is a bad way to convince someone of your point of view.

        > You mis-construe me. I’m not endorsing bad behavior, just saying that’s how childish Americans react. They sit on their butts and allow corrupt pols to push them into poverty, then lash out as a last resort. Just like they don’t have the common sense to resist a contagious virus.
