MD Comptroller Wants To Remove Regulations On Craft Beer

WBAL reports Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot wants to remove most of the regulations in the state that he says hampers the expansion of craft beer in the state. He's proposing legislation that is the result of the work of a task force he formed over the summer. House Speaker Mike Busch says Franchot left out input from lawmakers, and because of that, Franchot's bills may not get much attention from the legislature. Busch has also suggested relieving Franchot of his power to enforce liquor laws, since Franchot criticized a craft beer bill that lawmakers approved in 2017….
