MD PA WV Readies Support for North/South Corridor

Completing of the north-south highway is a coordinated effort between Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia which has been in the talking stages for close to two decades, but progress has advanced in recent years.  Maryland has more than $98 million available for linking Route 219 to Pennsylvania. West Virginia has more than $92 million for Corridor H work.  The Greater Cumberland Committee and numerous state and local officials throughout the tri-state area have pushed hard for the north-south bill via passage of the surface transportation bill a few years ago. U.S. Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland said bi-partisan support for the project has been a key to securing support from all three states….
