MD Senators Critical Of Supreme Court Nomination

Monday President Donald Trump chose to nominate federal appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his second nominee to the Supreme Court, replacing retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy- and not surprisingly neither the process nor the nominee has been well received by Maryland Democratic Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen.   With Democrats determined to vigorously oppose Trump’s choice, the Senate confirmation battle is expected to dominate the months leading up to November’s midterm elections. Senate Republicans hold only a 51-49 majority, leaving them hardly any margin if Democrats hold the line.  Van Hollen said allowing an outside group with a clear agenda to formulate the list of candidates was a major red flag from day one in his opinion…
