MDOT Secretary Meets With Co. Officials To Discuss Capital Budget

Maryland’s Deputy Transportation Secretary Jim Ports met with Allegany County officials to provide details of the department’s six year capital budget.  The meeting was part of MDOT’s annual tour of 23 Maryland counties and Baltimore City to update local officials and the public on the Hogan Administration’s $14.4 billion investment over the next six years in transit, highways and transportation infrastructure projects across the state. One ongoing concern for rural Maryland officials has been the dramatic cuts made in highway user revenues for local projects over the past ten years. The Deputy Secretary said that while the department and Governor Larry Hogan are fully supportive of restoring those funds, the democrat controlled General Assembly, particularly Senate President Mike Miller, simply won’t allow it…
