Meeting Held To Focus On Future Of School Security

Nothing concrete came out of a special Monday morning meeting focusing on the future of school security- but the hour session did serve as a chance for all involved parties to outline some general starting points for formulating a comprehensive system wide plan. The Allegany County Commissioners, board of education, local law enforcement and Delegate Kevin Kelly all took part in the meeting that was organized by County Commissioners President Mike McKay. While the governor’s proposed budget contains capital funding for school security measures such as new doors or upgraded surveillance equipment- Delegate Kelly, who participated in the session via is car phone-said that while there is a push from some republicans for armed personnel in the schools- he doesn’t view that as likely…
