Meeting on Columbia Gas Rate Hike Sees Little Attendance

Although customers are looking at a potential rate hike of 13.4 % from Columbia Gas of Maryland- just a half dozen citizens attended and only three spoke at a Maryland Public Service Commission public hearing in Cumberland Thursday evening. Chief Public Utility Law Judge Chuck McLean started the hearing at 7 p.m. in the Crown Room of the Cumberland Ramada and after three individuals spoke, the hearing was closed at 7:16.  All of those who did speak voiced strong opposition to the proposed increase including LaVale resident Ross Castles…

    We all were lied to again! Natural gas fracking was supposed to make the price of natural gas much cheaper than oil, etc. another lie, 13%, unbelievable. I’m all electric. Thank goodness. At least for now.
