Michael Bush To Become Longest Serving Speaker Of The Maryland House Of Delegates

WBAL reports that when the 2012 session of the Maryland General Assembly begins today, history will be made. Michael Busch will become the longest serving Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates, 10 years- eclipsing the previous record of nine years held by Cumberland’s Casper Taylor Jr.  Taylor held the leadership post from 1994 to 2003. Busch, an Annapolis resident is the 106th speaker, and the eighth from Anne Arundel County. Busch, who has served in the House since January 1987, has become famous for his levelheaded approach to leading the diverse 141-member House of Delegates.
