Midnight Madness Scheduled For Thursday

In just two years, the Midnight Madness event has already developed into one of the more popular holiday traditions in Cumberland- and this year it is slated for this Thursday, December 13th.  On that night, many stores and restaurants throughout the downtown area will be staying open until midnight. Downtown Manager Ed Mullaney calls it a chance for the community to support “mom-and-pop” businesses. He also emphasizes that when people shop at locally owned businesses, 68 cents of every dollar stays in town, compared to 46 cents for chain stores operating locally and zero for online sales.
