Miller Comments on Hogan’s Popularity; Vows Willingness to Compromise

He says he maintains a very positive relationship with Governor Larry Hogan, but Democratic Senate President Mike Miller says Democrats will not treat Governor Larry Hogan's proposals any differently this year, because a poll out last week showed Governor Hogan very popular with voters. The Gonzales Poll of 819 registered voters found that 67-percent approved of the job Hogan was doing.  His approval rate among Democrats is 49-percent, Republicans, 94-percent and Independents, 78-percent.  Miller attributes the high poll numbers to Hogan's 2014 election victory, a successful legislative year last year, and a successful battle against cancer. Asked if this changes Democratic opposition to some of Hogan's proposals, Miller said, "no not, in the least." He talked about the importance of being willing to compromise…
