Mineral County Day Being Held This Week

Mineral County’s version of the PACE Legislative Reception is being held this week- with area residents and elected officials traveling to West Virginia’s state capital to lobby for funding for key projects. Mineral County Day, now ten years old, serves as a showcase for the region to downstate lawmakers and administration representatives in Charleston. The event will be held Jan. 11 to 13. With the local economy in a downward spiral- Mineral County Commission President Cindy Pyles told the Greater Cumberland Committee that it’s important for citizens to speak with legislators during the three day event because it coincides with the first day of the legislative session.
