Mineral County Relay For Life Today

July 21st, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Mineral County Relay for Life will take a departure from tradition next weekend, with the main event to be held from noon until midnight Saturday at the walking track at Clark Field along U.S. Route 220. In the past, the major fund raiser for the American Cancer Society has been held overnight from Friday to early Saturday morning, with some participants even camping out at the site.  According to event chair Ramona Hanlin, however, the planning committee decided to hold the event during the day this year to hopefully entice more people to stop by and participate in the festival-like atmosphere. A full schedule of events and entertainment is planned, kicking off with the welcome and prayer at noon and the flag ceremony and ribbon cutting at 12:15 p.m.
