The Mineral County Board of Education honored the Teacher of the Year and Service Personnel of the Year with a reception this week following by recognition during the board meeting. Eighth grade West Virginia students teacher Tommy Nester of Keyser Middle School was named Teacher of the Year, and was nominated along with Jessica Durr, Scott Hott, Amanda Jewell, and Hannah Wingler. Darlene Garlitz was named Service Personnel of the Year, and was nominated along with Joan Hartman, Connie Lyons, Eston Presnell Jr. and Julie Shears.
