On August 26, 2015, the Cumberland Police Department received a report of a missing 33 year old man from the 1600 block of Fredrick Street. Circumstances at the time led police to believe the missing person may be in danger. Overnight, and again this morning, the Cumberland Police conducted searches of the area on foot, by air, and using canine teams with the assistance of the Maryland State Police. While searching the area a vigilant citizen reported a suspicious person in the neighborhood which led to the missing persons recovery. The person has been found and has been transported to the hospital for a medical condition. There are no criminal charges, and there is no danger to the community. The Cumberland Police would like to express the assistance the public provided in this matter.
