MLB 2017 Schedules Released: Pirates open at Fenway Park, O’s open at home with Jays

The Pittsburgh Pirates today released their 2017 regular season schedule, which will feature the Bucs opening the season in Boston before returning to Pittsburgh for their Home Opener on Friday, April 7 vs. Atlanta. It will be the first time the Pirates play a Homer Opener against the Braves since 1998.

Following their first homestand of the season against Atlanta and Cincinnati, the Pirates will embark on a six game road trip against National League Central rivals Chicago and St. Louis from April 14-19.

The home portion of Pittsburgh's 2017 interleague schedule will also feature visits by the Yankees from April 21-23, Tampa Bay from June 27-29, Detroit from August 7-8 and Baltimore from September 26-27 in the final two home games of the regular season.

The Baltimore Orioles will be home to start the 2017 season.

Major League Baseball on Wednesday unveiled regular season schedules for next year. The Orioles host Toronto on Monday April 3 and 5 next year on a schedule that starts heavy on division games. Aside from a three-game interleague swing to Cincinnati, the Orioles play entirely AL East teams until May 5, when they play host to the Chicago White Sox for the weekend before moving into the four-game Beltway Series with the Washington Nationals.

Besides the Nationals, all the Orioles' interleague foes are from the National League central division. They host the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 6 and 7, the St. Louis Cardinals June 16-18 and the Chicago Cubs July 14-16. They travel to face the Reds on April 18-20, the Milwaukee Brewers July 3-5, and Pittsburgh Sept. 26 and 27.
