Morriss Comments on Fayette Street Bridge Reopening Soon

Repair work continuing on the Fayette Street bridge with the span expected to be reopened to single-lane traffic in a matter of weeks. The work is being performed by L.C. Whitford Co., Inc. of Wellsville, New York. CSX Transportation.  The bridge has been closed since June 2018 when it was struck by a train. It is one of three railroad bridges on the city’s West Side that have been closed for more than a year due to poor conditions. The Cumberland Street bridge was closed in November 2017 after failing a safety inspection. The Washington Street bridge has been closed the longest. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss said the structure that will open on Fayette Street will be sufficient to allow for certain emergency vehicles to access the West Side….

    I hear it will be a toll bridge with all the collections going to CSX. Morriss and the butt kissin Seth Bernard came up with that idea.
