Although at least one business in the Riverside Industrial Park opposed a request from Grow West to close a portion of Riverside Avenue- the Cumberland City Council did vote unanimously Tuesday night to approve. A representative for the opposing business argued that taking such action for a private business does not benefit the public welfare.
