Morriss, Grim Finish Top Two in Mayoral Primary

June 27th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

A crowded field of mayoral candidates in Cumberland has been cut down to two for November as challenger Ray Morriss and incumbent Brian Grim were the top two finishers.  Grim told WCBC News Tuesday night that he is pleased that he and Morriss share somewhat similar views.

Morriss is a retired CSX employee and he says that overall that may have been an asset as the city struggles with the railroad company over West Side bridge repairs.

The third place finisher for mayor was David Smith.  With City Councilman Dave Caporale likely to be a county commissioner, WCBC News asked Smith if he had interest in Caporale’s seat.
