Morriss Praises Local Protest Organizers

A number of local protest rallies have taken place in the past week following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minnesota- and while many of those events across the nation have broken down into violence, looting and destruction- that has not been the case in the region. Protest rallies have been held in Cumberland, Frostburg and Keyser in recent days- with 75 to 100 showing up at Cumberland’s City Hall last Sunday afternoon.  Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss, on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show”, had nothing but praise for organizers and participants in the local protests…

    Thank you protestors for engaging in peaceful demonstrations and respecting law enforcement. I think we can have a productive dialogue under these conditions.
