On October 23, 2011, at 9:16 A.M., officers responded to E. Oldtown Rd at South St. for a motor vehicle into a residence. When officers arrived they began an investigation into the accident. The investigation revealed that the 1998 GMC van was traveling Southbound on Hill Top Drive. Once the vehicle reached the intersection with Oldtown Rd. the vehicle’s braking system malfunctioned causing the brakes to fail. The vehicle then traveled across Oldtown Rd and into a residence. The Cumberland Fire Department assisted and no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
