MSEA leader calls Hogan’s school reopening plan a recipe for chaos

August 31st, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Governor Larry Hogan’s announcement last week that school systems in Maryland are now authorized to begin the process of reopening the classrooms caught many by surprise- and proved to be a major concern for many teachers.  The Maryland State Education Association issued a statement saying, among other things, that the governor and the state superintendent have “undercut hard decisions schools have made to keep students and educators safe” just  days before the year begins. MSEA President Cheryl Bost called it a recipe for chaos and confusion…

Allegany County Board of Education President Tammy Fraley tells WCBC News that there has been steady communication with teachers representatives throughout the process…

Hogan and Superintendent Karen Salmon plan to visit school sites across the state in the coming weeks to observe systems that are bringing small groups of students back into a safe and educationally effective environment.

Send the kids back. It’s only the flu and it will disappear after the election.

      > You forgot about this nugget:
“More and more studies show that kids are actually stoppers of the disease and they don’t get it and transmit it themselves, so we should be in a posture of — the default should be getting back to school kids in person, in the classroom.” — Education Secretary Betsy DeVos
