MSP Make Motor Vehicle Theft Arrest

On 11/25/18 at approximately 2000 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police McHenry Barracks responded to the 2000 block of Green Lantern Road, Grantsville, Maryland for a reported motor vehicle theft. While conducting a search of the area, Troopers located the unoccupied stolen vehicle in the area of Rt. 40 and Piney Run Road.  A further search of the area revealed a female suspect located nearby walking on Rt.40. The female suspect was in possession of the victim's cell phone and purse.

  Nicolle Elizabeth Hebb, 26, of Thomas, West Virginia was charged with unlawful taking of motor vehicle, theft less than $1500, and theft from motor vehicle. Hebb is being held in the Garrett County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.

  The Maryland State Police would like to remind citizens not to leave their vehicle's idling while unattended. The penalty for leaving a running vehicle unattended in Maryland is a $70 fine and one point against a driver's record. Exceptions are if the vehicle is started with a keyless entry system or if the vehicle is on private property. In both cases, the law prohibits the vehicle from idling for more than five minutes.
