On Friday, at approximately 4:12PM a Cumberland Police Department officer was patrolling the area of Williams Street and Elm Street when he observed what appeared to be a hand to hand exchange between subjects on the street. The officer was able to contact a male involved in the exchange and asked what was in his hand. Brett Allen Denby, age 28 of Mount Savage, was found to be in possession of suspected Heroin. Denby was arrested at the scene and transported to Cumberland Police Department for processing. Denby was charged with CDS Possession- Not Marijuana and taken to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance. He was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $8,500 bond.
