Multiple Theft Complaints Handled by Police

Shoplifting On 10/11/16 at 12:03pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 700blk of Park St in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted store employees who advised that they observed a subject conceal items and leave the store without paying for them. A description of the suspect was issued and officers located a male subject matching the description issued near the Post Office. Investigation led to the recovery of the stolen items. At this time officers placed 29 year old Christopher Kaylor under arrest. A search incident to arrest was conducted and officers located several items used for the purposes of preparing and using a controlled dangerous substance. Kaylor was transported to Police Headquarters where he was charged with Theft less than $1000 and Possession of CDS paraphernalia. Kaylor was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a $5,000 bail pending his next court appearance.

Theft On 10/11/16 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 100blk of Race St in reference to a theft. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that person(s) unknown removed an item of value from the front porch of the residence. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

Theft On 10/11/16 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the first block of Browning St in reference to a theft. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who advised that sometime overnight person(s) unknown removed a electric scooter from the front porch. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

Theft On 10/11/16 at 9:26 PM Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 700blk of Gateway Terr in reference to a theft. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that they observed their motion light come on in the rear of the residence. They advised they looked outside and saw several males taking items from the rear porch. They advised that they then followed the suspects until the arrival of the police. Officers then contacted the suspect who was identified as 36 year old Larry Rodeheaver of Cumberland. Rodeheaver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was issued two criminal citations for theft under $100 and destruction of property and released pending trial in District Court.

Arrest Warrant Served On 10/11/16 the Cumberland Police Dept served a bench warrant on 37 year old Kimberly Kennell of Cumberland. The warrant stems from Kennell failing to appear in District Court on a original charge of failing to send a child to school. Kennell was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was held on a $1000 bond pending her next court appearance.
