Murder Charges Filed In Bayard Overdose Case

Troopers assigned to the Moorefield/Petersburg Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, along with the assistance of the Grant County Sheriff’s Department have arrested two people in connection with a suspicious death investigation. Cody Zane Stevenson, 25, of Mount Storm, WV and Amanda Lynn Bow, 21, of Mount Storm were arrested on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Stevenson and Bow are both facing charges of Murder, Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance.

The investigation began on May 2, 2016 when Senior Trooper B. W. Thorn from the Moorefield/Petersburg Detachment responded to a home on Spruce Street in Bayard, WV for a report of a suspicious death. Ryan Wayne Robinson, 33, was found deceased in his residence. His body was taken to the Office of the State Medical Examiner where an autopsy confirmed that Robinson died as a result of a heroin/fentanyl based overdose.

Trooper Thorn began an extensive investigation and followed up on a number of leads, which led him to Stevenson and Bow. Trooper Thorn was able to determine Cody Zane Stevenson and Amanda Lynn Bow had distributed the illegal narcotics to Mr. Robinson on the night of his death.

Stevenson and Bow are currently being held in Potomac Highlands Regional Jail without bail.URDER
